Sometimes in life you need to take a moment. An opportunity to step away from the day-to-day, to stop what you’re doing and look at things from a fresh perspective.

We recently had one of those moments, and it changed everything.

The result is the rebirth of our agency with a new name and a new direction. Say hello to Major Tom and visit MajorTom.com. A whole lot of blood, sweat, and tears has gone into the re-brand and we’re delighted to finally be able to share it with the world.

But as we unveil our fresh perspective we also want to share a little bit of the story of how the agency came to be.

A meeting of minds

Major Tom is the result of a merger between 6S Marketing and Drive Digital. Both headquartered in Vancouver and with offices in New York and Toronto, the two agencies have shared ownership and have worked closely together since Drive Digital’s launch in 2012.

Collaboration has always been key to the character of both companies, but the evolution of marketing has also helped to join the two agencies together.

As the marketing landscape has changed, so too have the demands that people are placing on the consultancies and agencies they work with. We believe that today’s best marketing takes place where the art and science of marketing meet.  Our two agencies were increasingly working together to help organizations to see the bigger digital picture.

The result was some truly great work for our clients. Together we were building digital solutions for our clients from the ground up. We weren’t just designing great websites or creating successful campaigns. We were helping businesses to see the big picture, identifying and implementing holistic solutions that were specifically tailored to meet their goals.

And the more we did together the more we realized that we were just starting to scratch the surface of what we could achieve.

We worked so closely together that eventually we decided to literally break down the physical walls between us, merging our two offices into one massive open plan space.

Soon we realized it was time to knock down another wall, albeit a metaphorical one, and combine our efforts into a new entity that would deliver better strategy, better design, better results and a better experience for our clients.

Introducing Major Tom

The result was the decision to merge our two agencies to form Major Tom.

Major Tom is a full-service digital consultancy that marries strategic insight with impeccable execution. We’re the next iteration of digital marketing that’s been purpose-built to help our clients thrive in an increasingly complex landscape.

 

Why now?

Marketing is evolving. Every day there are new technologies, new opportunities, and new tactics for companies to employ in order to engage with their customers. But in this increasingly complex world, it can be easy to lose your way. To use the old adage, it can be hard for organizations to see the forest for the trees.

So we decided to change their perspective.

Through Major Tom, we help clients to see the whole forest so that we can pick the right trees. This means that we can strategically identify the right platforms, tactics, and technologies to help deliver their business objectives and then implement them.

It’s a holistic approach to marketing, a sophisticated solution that’s been designed to meet the needs of today’s increasingly sophisticated audiences.

As the name of our new agency suggests, Major Tom is here to change people’s perspective on the type of value that an agency partner can provide. And now, as we launch Major Tom, we’re incredibly excited for what comes next.

We’re about to embark on a new journey to explore new frontiers and change the way people look at digital marketing, and we can’t wait to get started.

Major Tom was chosen as our name not only because it stood out amongst the other contenders. It’s a thought-provoking name that communicates that 50,000 foot view we take as an agency. That taking-a-step-back to grasp the holistic connection between all of the working components of a particular project, so that we can find the true source of the problem and engineer the right solution.
